    My oldest loved the wooden abc blocks we had. That is a great toy for building and learning.

    My youngest was the same way. she used gestures for a long time and still does sometimes.

    My daughter needs some of these. We’re contemplating the Leapfrog computers for Christmas. She’s not got a disability but she isn’t speaking much. Just the odd word and is way behind all of her friends. She figures she can communicate through actions, so why use words…I’ll talk to my hubby about some of these for her Christmas.

    These toys are useful for any child but I can see how they are valuable for developing special kids abilities.

    my son LOVES wooden blocks!!! LOVES them. He can self play for hours and building things is one of his favorite things to do 🙂 Great post with great ideas!

    Thank you for sharing these toys. I have used the Melissa and Doug See and Spell toy. I like that it has the pictures and letters on both sides of the board. Also that it has colorful pictures and letters making it fun to learn.
