Christmas is right around the corner. Even though we don’t identify with any particular religion at our house, we do the whole celebrate-the-Christmas-season-with expensive-gifts. However, with a child that has autism, I never know how happy the gifts will actually make her.
Last year, I bought her what she wanted. Exactly. The exact item she pointed out from the same exact shelf in the same exact store. I went back to the store that same night after she went to sleep to buy it. I’m slick like that.
She was excited to open her gift, but not crazy, over-the-top excited. It wasn’t Chuckee Cheeze scream worthy, you know?
This year, I have no idea what to get her. Maybe just a giant cardboard box to play in?
But, I know a lot of you need suggestions, and you might not have time to go to the store to shop. So, I’m going to start sharing some ideas and links to buy those items. Hopefully you’ll find something that your kiddos will love in time for the holidays.
For my daughter, every movie out this year has brought excitement and yearning. She’s had the chance to see most of them too! Between her dad and I, she’s seen all but one that she wanted to see.
The most recent trip was to see Despicable Me 2 with her dad. There are some really cute and fun new toys out to go along with this movie and it won’t matter if you have a boy or girl at home.
Whether it’s the Despicable Me 2 Minion or the Despicable Me 2 PVC 2 Inch Mini Figure 10-Piece Set, kids who love the movie will love these toys.
If you spend a lot of time in the car, The Carl Vinyl Figure is a good idea, too because it’s small and easy to take with you. The three piece set below might be good too.
One reason that I believe Despicable ME 2
know for my daughter and me, the first movie created some fun memories and her dad laughed out loud several times during this second movie.
Those memories will come back for the kids when they open up that present this christmas.
