Recently, this news item hit my feed on facebook. The town south of us has a convicted child molester moving in and the whole town is in an uproar. It’s a tiny town. There’s nowhere that isn’t close to this guy’s new house.

But, all you have to do is search news archives to see all the horror stories about people who were “great neighbors” and “good people.” You can live next door to someone who murders people and not even know it.

You could be getting a helping hand from someone who beats his wife or someone who has a conviction for molesting a child and you’d never even know it because appearances won’t tell you that information.
